Meeting called to order by John Hawley ,Smith, President
with the following members present:
John Hawley Smith, President (City Rep.)

Kenneth Christian (County Rep.)

John MacMartin, Cumin Associates, Billings
Dave Gauslow, Fire Chief
Minutes of previous meeting approved as sent out.
John MacMartin reported on speculative wheat processing
plant. Hurried put together of data in less than a week. Last
Thursday "we" met them in Billings, and at 1:30 p.m. made pre -
sentation of why Laurel should be selected. Thursday Mayor Herman
and John MacMartin went to Great Falls to listen to Great Falls'
presentation. John MacMartin had 45 minutes to prepare a rebuttal.
He speculates that Laurel has 50/50 chance. John described the
manufacturing process. He thinks Laurel is the better site.
The plant would produce fructose or alcohol -- not both at the
same time -- gluten and bran. Plan includes buying land to pro -
duce seed stock.
Continued discussion but due to speculative nature of comments
not recorded.
