CITY - COUNTY PLANNING BOARD
LAUREL, MONTANA 59044
February 11, 1982
Meeting called to order by John Hawley Smith, President,
at 7:05 p.m., with the following members present:
John. Hawley Smith, President (City Rep.)
R. M. Williams, Vice President (County Rep.)
Otto J. Preikszas, Exec. Secty (City Rep.)
Bus Roberts (City Rep.)
Ed LaPrath (County Rep.)
Jim Straw (County Rep.)
Jim Seaton (County Rep.)
Joe Bradley (City Rep.) new member
Members absent:
Gerald Shay, Member -at -Large
Debbie Ketterling (City Rep.)
Kenneth Christian (County Rep.)
Also present:
John MacMartin, Cumin Associates, Billings
Dave Gauslow, Fire Chief
Minutes of previous meeting approved as sent out. Bills
approved for payment: Cumin Associates in the amount of $3,000.00
for Planning Advisory Services in Oct., Nov., and Dec., 1981, as
per contract;. Engineering Department in the amount of $600.00
for Administrative Services in Dec., 1981, Jan., 1982, and Feb.,
1982.
AIRPORT: John MacMartin discussed airport zoning. Details of
improvement in parking- building area. Airport Authority's duties
and authority explained and described as more or less of an
autonomous body.
John MacMartin presented a map and asked if the board
wanted a 3 -D constructed or will we be satisfied with the map
for our study.
Jim Straw asked if city and county are involved in zoning.
John MacMartin suggested the Airport Authority could proceed
and use the board as a vehicle for zoning. There is a separate
chapter on zoning for airports that extends beyond the one -mile
zoning jurisdictional area.
John MacMartin explained a development concept with a
taxi strip between homes. This is not being considered for
our area right now.
John MacMartin is to prepare something about the zoning
for the board's consideration and advice for the March meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 7:37 p.m.
