COUNCIL CHAMBERS Gary Temple Bill Staudinger Marvin Carter Mark Mace Ed Steffans John Oakes Larry McCann Gary Temple opened the meeting. Ricci's sewer bill The situation was resolved before the meeting, Sign code Gary stated that Don Smarsh is reviewing a draft of the sign code. A future meeting will be scheduled with Steve Klotz, Gary Temple and John Oakes to review the sign code. Floodplain Larry explained that the city applied about a year ago for a DNRC grant for a floodplain study. The floodplain map currently available was drawn up in 1982. Community input from residents is needed for a floodplain study that would result in a flood reaction plan for the City of Laurel. If the city applies for any floodplain related grants, a floodplain plan must be in place. The low RFP bidder for the study was Montana Engineering and Administration (ME&A). Larry asked the committee to recommend a resolution for the council to authorize the mayor to sign a contract with ME&A for a floodplain study. Motion by Bill Staudinger to recommend to the council to have ME&A complete a floodplain study for the City of Laurel, seconded by Mark Mace. Motion carried. He suggested sending one legal notice to all property owners in May to inform them of the code requirements regarding weeds. Larry will work on this issue.
