HomeMy WebLinkAboutChamber of Commerce (14) Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting Minutes The Meeting was held on September 12th at Sid's. In attendance were: Executive Board Members: President - Christy Williams, VP- Molly Conrad, Co -VP - Amanda Frye and chamber assistant Marda Hafner. Directors: Heidi Jensen and Don Woemer. We did not have a quorum, so no votes could be taken. Christy called the meeting to order. The minutes were read. The finandal report was presented and tills were presented for payment. Old BUSINESS • Chamber building improvements - Heidi reported that the city could not find a lease agreement. She will look into having one written up for the Chamber. • Organization Pot luck - The committee has met and the event is scheduled for Oct. 8th. • Laurel Flag - Marcia contacted Magnum about replacing the flag over the elevator near their business. There are several problems with the building and it is hazardous to get to the top to replace the flag. Therefore, the flag will not be replaced. • Web Site - A bid was received. Samples of his work have been sent out to the board members. • Farmers' Market - It was a slow year. A survey was passed out to the vendors. Results are not in yet. • Museum - This year's payment was less than 1 /2 of what we have received for the last 12 years. Since we budgeted on this money, we will have to check and adjust the budget. • NAMI - Has been using our building for their meetings on Wednesday nights. New BUSINESS • New Members- Century Link • Spotlight on Business - Always looking for new. • Bountiful Baskets - They would, again, like to use the Chamber building. OPEN FORUM • LURA - Marcia presented the key features of the Gateway Plan. Christmas decorations - . • New Board Members - Newsletter, any nominations. • Nez Perce trail offer. • Annual meeting - location, stipulate building maintenance for raffle, etc. • GMM speaker for next month?
