CONFERENCE ROOM MEMBERS PRESENT: Emelie Eaton Chuck Dickerson Tom Nelson OTHERS PRESENT: Shirley Ewan Mayor Mace Chairman Eaton called the regular meeting of the Budget/Finance Committee to order at 5:30 p.m. There was no public in attendance. The minutes of the July 15, 2014 meeting were presented and approved via motion by Tom, seconded by Chuck, and passed unanimously. Chuck made a motion to approve the claims in the amount of $483,920.19 for Council consent. Shirley mentioned that about one -third of the claims are for Fiscal Year 13 -14 and the balance are for this FY. The claims that have been paid for last fiscal year will be moved back into that year. Chuck made a motion to approve the claims, Tom seconded the motion, all in favor, motion passed. There were no purchase requisition presented to the Committee. The Comp /OT reports for PPE 7/20/14 were reviewed by the Committee. Chuck inquired about the overtime at Riverside Park. Shirley will find out what it was for and report back to the Committee. The Payroll Register for PPE 7/20/14 totaling $172,258.30 was reviewed by the Committee. Motion was made by Tom, seconded by Chuck, to recommend council approval of the payroll register. Motion passed. Clerk/Treasurer Comments: Union 316 Update Shirley stated that the 2 teams met and have still not come to an agreement. Some discussion was held in regards to negotiations. The City and Union will be meeting again on August 14, 2013. Shirley mentioned that the mill value has come in from the Department of Revenue. She has not had time to calculate the percentage, but at first glance it appears that the value of a mill has gone up $89. Mayor's Comments: The Mayor inquired if any of the Committee members were interested in going to The Montana League of Cities and Towns meeting on October 8 -10 The conference will be held in West Yellowstone this year. If anyone is interested in going, the application needs to be back to Shirley as soon as possible, as the rooms are going fast. The Mayor mentioned that there will be a Memorial Service on September 11th, at 10:00 a.m. in the Firemen's Memorial Park for the victims of 9 -11. 1 Budget/Finance Committee August 5, 2014 Other: Shirley let the Committee know that Kurt is on vacation this week so there is no update on the Septic Hauling System. The topic will be moved to the next meeting. Emelie inquired as to what is happening on 5th Avenue. The Mayor stated that is the balance of the repaving and water main project from last fiscal year. The water mains, sewer mains, gas mains and sidewalks are being replaced as well as on the 3 blocks on Cottonwood. The project should be completed soon and is a great improvement in both neighborhoods. For next agenda: East Main Lift Station. Riverside Park — Water Availability. Update on Union Negotiations. Septic Hauling System.
