Laurel Urban Renewal Agency
June 16, 2014, Beartooth Grill
Meeting called to order by Chair Judy Goldsby. Roll call/Attendance: Quorum of voting
members present: Judy Goldsby, Shirley McDermott, Linda Frickel, Daniel Klein (not
present for votes), Dean Rankin. Advisory members present: Janice Lehman, Mardie
Spalinger, Absent: Dirk Frickel, BSED representative. Also present Steve Zeier (Zeier
Consulting); Heidi Jensen, Monica Plecker, Shirley Ewan, City of Laurel; Marcia Hafner,
Chamber of Commerce; Kathleen Gilluly, Laurel Outlook.
Review and approve minutes: Minutes were approved with corrections to date from June
16 to June 02, 2014.
Introduction of Guests: Kathleen Gilluly, Laurel Outlook.
Reports: Monica distributed Sanderson Stewart report and asked that it move quickly for
final approval by the City Council. Dean moved to accept, seconded by Shirley
McDermott. Motion carried unanimously.
Dean reported that Joe Bradley, owner of the building displaying the Steve Cosner sign
would be submitting a technical assistance /sign replacement application.
Steve Zeier distributed the "Laurel Gateway Plan" report. Public meeting is scheduled
for June 26
Heidi requested that the board support a request the have Monica and Heidi attend a
Community Development Financial Association (CDFA) workshop in Phoenix the end of
November.
Linda and Judy announced the "Rock the Block" event scheduled for Friday, June 20
Board Discussion/Actions: Monica submitted a request by the Beartooth Grill to approve
improvements to the patio. The amount would be the difference between the maximum
allowed ($5,000.) and the amount previously approved. Dean moved to approve,
seconded by Linda. Motion carried unanimously.
TID Review: Annual election of officers will be scheduled for the December meetings.
Heidi and Shirley Ewan will have documents ready for the Board to meet the annual
report September deadline.
There being no further business, Shirley moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by
Linda. Meeting was adjourned.
