The Tree Board met at 9:00 A.M. in City Hall, with Pat Hart
presiding, attending members LuAnne Engh, Sue Carter and Kurt
Markegard.
The Arbor Day Ceremony will be May 2, at 1:00 PM, location
Veteran's Park. We will plant 2 Praire Fire Crab Trees, they are
replacement trees. We will invite the Head start children to
participate in the planting. The progbam: American Legion -flag
ceremony, Mayor- Welcome, Bradley Shoemaker - DNRC State Grant, an
article will be put in the newspaper for the public.
We need to replace 3 trees at the Library, 2 Honey Locust and
1 Noraway Maple. Pat made a motion to remove a dead tree at the
right south corner of the Chamber Building and LuAnne seconded it,
motion carried. A Black Ash tree will be planted in the Chamber
Park (Old Fireman's Park).
City Park workers: Fran Schweigertand Bruce Lefler, they
work (50 -50) part in parks and city maintance. There will be 43
people as summer help (seasonal) to work in the parks.
We will be trimming trees at the town square, April 21, at
9:00 A.M. We went to shop for replacement trees for the parks and
the library.
Next meeting May 15, 9:00 at City Hall.
