HomeMy WebLinkAboutLaurel Urban Renewal Agency Minutes 06.02.2014 MINUTES Laurel Urban Renewal Agency (LURA) June 2, 2014 Laurel Public Library Meeting called to order by Chair Judy Goldsby. Roll Call/Attendance: Quorum of voting members present: Judy Goldsby, Shirley McDermott, Linda Frickel, Daniel Kline. Advisory members present Janice Lehman, Mardie Spalinger, and Steve Arveschoug (Big Sky EDA). Steve Zeier (Zeier Consulting), Lauren Waterton (Sanderson Stewart), Rick Herr, Marcia Hafner (Chamber of Commerce), Monica Plecker (City of Laurel) Minutes were approved with a motion by Shirley McDermott, seconded by Linda Frickel. No guests were introduced. Reports: Lauren Waterton distributed copies of "Laurel TIF District Development and Strategy Plan" and four "Laurel Gateway" "Laurel Vision" handouts. Open discussion provided Lauren with suggestions and preferences that she will incorporate into the handouts for the next meeting. She suggested open house and public meeting be schedule for June 20 and 26 Location to be determined later. Judy Goldsby announced the first "Rock the Block" event Friday, June 6 She has advertising posters for anyone having a good poster location. They are trying to find solutions for the dog problem in the park and have ordered a dog -waste depot that may be helpful. Monica announced the Planning Board would review the Design Standards at their June meeting. Dean Rankin will have reports on traffic study and storm drain projects at the next meeting. She explained policy changes the planning board is working with on for storage unit locations. Steve A. announced small business awards luncheon scheduled for June 10. Monica and Heidi will attend. Everyone is welcome to attend. Steve Zeier reported activities in the TID business district and his ongoing discussions and coordination with Lauren Waterton. There being no further business Shirley McDermott made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Dan Klein. NEXT MEETING: June 16th, 11 A.M, AT THE BEARTOOTH GRILL
