The bank at Riverside Park did not get any worse after cresting. The contractor was able to get big rocks placed and he may need to readjust them after the river level drops. Other: Election Discussion It is too early to hear any election result. We will have to wait until the polls close. In wondering if the Park Maintenance District will pass, Doug said it will help determine whether we do a safety mill levy. The next regular Budget/Finance meeting will be Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. For next agenda: Election discussion regarding the Park Maintenance District and Government Review. The committee would also like an update on the budget. 1 Budget/Finance Committee June 3, 2014 Doug said the EMS Committee discussed the siren and couldn't determine where to put it. They were thinking at the city shop. Rick is going to be asking for a new communication software system that will be paid for out of drug money. There is an additional application that can be purchased for $5,000.00 that will text and call the firemen. The EMS Committee is going to recommend that when the system is in place, we do away with the siren. There is historical significance to the siren and it can be determined what to do with it at that time. When the fire chief polled the department, he found that all but two firemen have cell phones. Doug said it would be cheap to buy track phones for the ones who do not have a phone. It was stated it is the city's responsibility to take the siren down. Written proposal for the siren removal (Doug). The meeting adjourned at 5:58 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Cathy Gabrian, Deputy Clerk 2
