Board Meeting Minutes
The Meeting was held on March 13th, 2014 at Emma's. In attendance were: Executive Board Members:
President - Christy Williams, VP- Molly Conrad, Co -VP - Amanda Frye and chamber assistant Marda Hafner.
Directors: Dan Dart, Ruben Delzer, Heidi Jensen and Donnie McVee. Members: Steve Solberg, Ken
Blankenship, Bobbie Boss, Zada Stamper, Vicky Copeland and Julie Seedhouse. Guests: Judy Goldsby and
Monica Plecker.
Christy called the meeting to order.
The minutes were approved: moved to approve - Molly, 2"d - Heidi.
The finandal report was approved and bills were presented for payment: moved to approve - Molly, 2n -
Donnie.
Old BUSINESS
• Board Binders- All the board members were presented with a 3 -ring binder to keep their
minutes, etc. New By -laws will be included when completed and approved.
• New Board Members - No new names were presented.
• Committees - There is a board member to head each committee. Christy mentioned that
the Beartooth Grill is having a fundraiser for the scholarship fund, March 16 & 17. $2 from
each plate of corned beef and cabbage will be donated.
New BUSINESS
• New Members- American Cancer Society /Yellowstone County Relay for Life
• Spotlight on Business - Look for Penny Korte article next week.
• Report on Grant - Marcia reported that there are several new restrictions attached to the
new visitor center grant that we will not be in compliance with by the due date. The new
restrictions on salary may not make it worth it, either.
• Ju 4th - The Chamber internal committee has met. This year, since Mt Timing went out
of business, we were forced to switch to Competitive Timing. The committee would like to
order the Dry-fit shirts. Dynamic Design has been contacted. The committee has
suggested new prices and deadlines on the run. Moved to approve- Amanda, 2n -Dan.
Approved. The committee also suggested new deadlines for the parade. Moved to
approve- Ruben, 2 Dan. Approved.
• Board Presentations - Single Moms Rock - Moved to support if they joined the
Chamber. Moved to approve - Ruben, 2n Heidi. Approved.
Yellowstone River Partners - The board thought they might be interested in their
presentation and voted to allow a presentation at a later date. Moved to approve- Ruben,
2" Molly. Approved.
OPEN FORUM
• LURA - Next meeting March 17t at the library. Judy & Monica invited everyone to attend.
Judy also discussed Laurel Alive. They need more members. We will also have to clean up
the Town Square before the Farmers Market, as it is being used as a dog park.
• Ribbon Cutting - Uniquely You Wedding Planning today at the Log Cabin.
• Business after Hours - If you would like to host an event, please contact the Chamber.

GUEST SPEAKER - Relay for Life gave a presentation and brought cupcakes. They discussed
some ways business can support the cause.

• Grant Marcia reported that she has received $500 from the Montana Office of Tourism to attend a
training conference in Butte.

o New guidelines for buildings.
o The 4th Ave so businesses would like drawings of how the options will look.
o Possibility to help with finandng a "paint the underpass" project.
o Possibility of allowing sidewalks to fascade improvement grant.
