CEMETERY BOARD
AUGUST 19TH, 1999
5:00 P.M. CITY HALL
MEMBERS PRESENT:

Cathy explained that we periodically get requests to resell lots in the
cemetery. With two recent requests to resell lots in Division D, we
measured the areas and found there is not enough room for a burial.
It was the recommendation of the Board that the City buy back lots for
the going price when we determine that they are unusable for a burial.
Motion by Lloyd Shay, seconded by William Staudinger that the City of
Laurel buy back lots for the going price when we determine that they are
not usable for burial purposes. Motion carried.
The Mayor stated that Jim Worthington has surveyed the cemetery and the
land to the north, but we have not received the official results yet. We
will find out what the square footage is and then approach the Schessler
family about buying the land.
It was stated that if we stay on a section line for our east boundary
line, we would have to do away with the far east row of Section R in the
Catholic Section.
