The Yellowstone County Couucilon p gmg'(YCC4A).vn be submitting a Section 5310
grant application.early next year for vehicle'funding...If granted;'tkiese.funds will be
utilized to puichase a replacement van for the Laniel Senior:Citizens van that currently.
proyides service within Laurel five days a'week and service to Billings every other
Wednesday. The receipt of tbis grant wilt allow YCCOA.to ekr ind its ttamportation
services to lhore effectively and efficiently meet the special transportation needs of.
seniors and persons with;disabilities within Laurel.
In order to£a(;ilitate the grant development process and also the.collaboration between
transportation providars'and senior and developmentally disabled service providers and
individuals,'YCCOA is creating a Technical Advisory Committee:(TAC). The
responsibilities of the T'AC will focus on enhancing the coordination of transportation
services and,thereby improving the mobility for seniors and personswith disabi]hies,
witltiri the community of Laurel.,
Mayor Rodgers;,I am seeking TAC membership liom several facets within Laurel,
including.the School District; the Chamber of Commerce, Laurel,Senior Center,St.
Vmcent's Health Care and the Evergreen Laurel Health;and Rehab, Due to tli'e extenxive
local knowledge base of Council members; x.would very much like to see a member of.
the City Council serve on the T.AC. Therefore,i waukl appreciate it if you would extend
MY. invitation to your Council members at tonight's Council meeting.
