COUNCIL CHAMBERS MEMBERS PRESENT: Emelie Eaton Chuck Dickerson Dan Koch Mark Mace OTHERS PRESENT: Kurt Markegard, Public Works Director Richard Herr Public Input There was no public input. Water (PER) Public Works Director Kurt Markegard informed the committee on the progress of the Water Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) that Great West Engineering is completing for the water system. Kurt presented the idea of moving the Elena Subdivision water booster station in order to increase the pressure in Cherry Hills Subdivision. The water pressure on Anns Place is suspect due to some complaints. This low water pressure was reported ever since the Elena booster station was installed in 2006. Kurt and Great West Engineering are going to investigate the issue further when the weather gets a little warmer. Discussion from the group discussed the possible locations where the booster station could be moved and Kurt presented a Google map that identified those locations. Discussion of possible water reservoirs and their locations was also discussed in order to increase the water pressure in the city. Kurt also presented information about the water consumption of the CHS refinery and told the committee that he and Great West engineers are going to meet with CHS representatives to discuss future needs of the refinery. Capital Improvements (fiscal yr. 14 -15) The budgets for the next year are starting to be prepared and Kurt informed the committee that the city is in need of a new tandem dump truck. The last truck purchased was for the street department in 1996. One of the current dump truck is so old that parts are impossible to find and Kurt is not sure if it can be fixed. The City Mechanic has been working the old dump truck and has not been able to complete the repairs to the transmission. Kurt will be requesting that the city purchase a new dump truck in the next fiscal year. The group discussed renting or hiring dump trucks from local businesses when the city is in need of additional trucks for a short period. Kurt informed the committee that he was aware one local company purchased additional pup trailers for their business due to the fact that Krug and Sons Gravel was no longer in business and the company was having to truck their needed supplies further. Kurt is going to present further items to the committee as the budgets get closer to being completed. Other There were no other items. The meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m. Respectfully submitted, i '//77'7 I I A Kurt Markegard Public Works Director
