November minutes were presented and approved as read.
Correspondence
A donation has been made by Mary Kasner in the amount of $100 in memory of her dogs. She
recently lost both dogs to illness and wants the library to purchase a few books in their memory.
Circulation Report
Traffic: up 15.16 %; circulation: all items circulated totaled 3,088 (including 170 eBooks), book
circulation was up 13.55 %, media circulation was down 24.5 %, eBook checkouts for this month
was 6.28% of total book circulation; computers: intemet use was up 5.8 %, children's use was up
28.81%, wi -fi use up 37.93 %; patron cards: city patrons made up 65.74% of all issued cards,
county patrons accounted for 26.38% of registered cards holders and nonresident
county /resident - district patrons are at 7.5 %. New statistic required by Montana State Library —
technology assists: 45.
Old Business
The by -laws for the library have been updated and are ready for signatures. Copies will be
distributed to each Board member and City Hall.
New Business
The Collection Management Policy needs to be updated. The last update was in 2008. Updates
should be done every 3 -5 years. Nancy will make changes and submit the updated Policy at the
January meeting for approval.
Holiday closings for the library will be noon on Christmas Eve, December 24 and closed on
Christmas Day, December 25'. The library will also close at 2:00 pm on New Year's Eve,
December 31 and be closed on New Year's Day, January 1 Regular working hours will
resume on Thursday, January 2, 2014 for library staff not on vacation.
Other
The Billings Public Library is holding an online auction for the items they are not moving into
their new building. We have been encouraged to browse the site and bid on those items we feel
would be beneficial to our library.
Patti has installed the three new computers at the public work stations. The patrons seem very
pleased with the new computers. There aren't any more problems with the old computers
freezing or stalling while patrons are browsing websites or emails.

Dixie motioned that the meeting be closed, Rose Marie seconded the motion. Passed. Meeting
adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
