Minutes of the July 13th meeting were approved as distributed. 2. Cai discussed the GIS mapping and showed the current land use map as prepared so far. The map was originally mapped using ArcView software, which, after much work and expense had been incurred, was found not to be compatible with the County's Arclnfo software--although both systems a~e made by the same company and were supposed to be compatible. Laurel has ArcView software and can manipulate data on maps with it, but that data must then be transferred to the Amlnfo system manually before it is integrated into the County data base. A list ofcorrent data information overIays was handed out which includes items a lots and blocks, ownership, aerials, and USGS maps. Cai will continue to update the OC on progress. 3. Ken discussed the availability of students in classes at the High School for TCSP presentation, and the OC went over various agenda items. It was decided to show the "Subdivide and Conquer" film and then prepare a follow-up process that would take up two days or two class periods. 4, Invoices as listed on the Agenda were moved by Larry for payment with a second by Kate; motiOn carded. (The Lanrel Outlook was paid $220.80, and Klotz's amount was $484.76.) 5. The Smart Growth column was discxtssed with Kathieen suggesting lttat we reduce the number of eolamnn. Cai passed out two brochures: One for Billings, Big Sky, and Beyond which is the first attempt at regional planning and taking in a 60-mile radius of Billings; it will take place October 5,6, and 7. The second brochure was a flyer for the Mid-Yellowstone Land Trust, a local land trust that provides some of the land management alternatives needed in a comprehensive approach to land pl~nnlng in an area. 9. The hearing for the proposed Montana Department of Tmaspertation plans for relocating and rebuilding a portion of US 212 south of Laurel was discussed.
