On behalf of the City of Laurel, I would like to express our most grateful
acknowledgement of the generous gifts of $25,332.85 (in December) and $64,297.00 (today)
from the Billie L. Riddle Trust to be used toward the building of a new public swimming
pool. Mrs. Riddle was known for her graciousness and concern for the community, and the
public will benefit from this kindness.
Currently, there is a task force in place to brainstorm different options for the city to
consider to provide for a new facility. If you are interested, I would be happy to provide you
with-copies of the meeting minutes to keep you apprised of our progress. Please feel free to
contact me if I can be of service.
