HomeMy WebLinkAboutSpecial City Council Minutes 10.23.1979Minutes of the City Council of Laurel October 23, 1979 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana, was held in the Council Chambers and called to order by Mayor Larry D. Herman, at 5:00 p.m., on October 23, 19797 bids for the Railroad Street Water Line. COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Duane Behm COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: Albert Ehrlick Harold Burns Donald Meyers for the purpose of opening Susan Carter Bill Brennan Terry Fink Ervin Metzger This being the time and place advertised, bids were opened for the installation of approximately 4,402 lin. ft. of 10-inch AC water main plus hydrants, tees, and valves, and service taps plus restitution of blacktop. All material to be furnished by Burlington Northern Railroad. Total Alt. #1 M.R.S. Construction $26,260~5B Adams Brothers Constr. 55,025.00 Lloyd C. Lockrem, Inc. 99,089.02 Since a bid bond was not included with the M.R.S. Total Alt. #2 $27,471.03 55,025.00 108,993.52 Construction bid, it can not be accepted. The bonds have been ordered through Hoiness- LaBar; however, they must accompany the bid to make it acceptable. Since a quorum was not present, no action was taken at this time. However, it was the recommendation of those present to reject all bids and the City will install the water line with their own crew at an estimated cost of approximately $15,000.00.
