Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
June 12; 1979
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana,
was held in -the Council Chambers and called to order by Mayor, Larry D.
Herman, at 5:00 p.m., on June 12, 1979, for the purpose of opening bids for
Water Plant Filter Modifications. I
COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Albert Ehrlick Bill Brennan
Harold Burns Susan Carter
Duane Behm Ervin Metzger I
COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: Donald Meyers Terry Fink I i
This being the time and place advertised, the following bids received,
were opened. j

The bids were referred to the engineers for review. I i
The low bid-was approximately $16,000 over the engineer's estimate; however, I
it was felt that since the material for this job has been shipped, storage
would be a problem and a delay in time would add to a higher cost in the
future. Also., if this work can not be done now, it will have to wait until
after September 15th.
Motion by Alderman Ehrlick to drop the alternate bid and accept the low
base bid of $78,300 from Spildie Construction Co., seconded by Alderman Metzger. Carried.
There being no further busine to come before the council at this time,
the meeting-was adjourned at 5:35 .m.
