Herman, at 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 1, 1979. COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Albert Ehrlick Chuck Rodgers Harold Burns Susan Carter Thomas Kilpatrick Ervin Metzger Donald Meyers COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: Ronald Massey INVOCATION: Invocation given by Reverend Ferguson. The Clerk is to notify aldermen by phone as a reminder of the special meeting May 8th. BIDS - FILTER MEDIA: li This being the time and place advertised for Filter Media for the water plant, all bids received were opened. Only one bid was received, which was from Neptune Microfloc in the amount of $51,b36.00. The bid was referred to Ken Beven for study and to bring back a recom- mendation to the City Council at the special meeting on May 8, 1979. E P A MANDATE: The Mayor received a letter from EPA, and in order for the city to I, continue receiving EPA money they have asked that the city adopt two ordinances relating directly to the sewer. r One is adding four sections to the current ordinance 13.08.120 and the other is adding to the current ordinance 13.08.220.. i I I i i I I I i I I ~ I page 3 Minutes of the pity Council of Laurel ORDINANCE N0. 660 AN ORDINANCE ADDING WASTE CHARACTERISTICS. Motion by Alderman Meyers that Ordinance No. 660 be passed and adopted, seconded by Alderwoman Carter. Upon taking roll call vote all aldermen I, present voted "aye." Motion carried. ORDINANCE N0. 661 I AN ORDINANCE ADDING THE AUTHORIZATION TO ~ OBTAIN INFORMATION CONCERNING INDUSTRIAL PROCESSES AND PERMISSION TO ENTER ALL PRIVATE PROPERTIES THROUGH WHICH THE CITY HOLDS A DULY NEGOTIATED EASEMENT. Motion b Alderman Metz er that Ordinance No. 661 be passed and adopted, seconded by Alderman hrlick. Upon taking roll call vote all aldermen present voted "aye." Motion carried. MAYOR'S COMMENTS: There is going to be a District Meeting of the Montana League of Cities and Towns May 18th here in the Council Chambers at 1:00 p.m.. There will be a no-host luncheon at the Owl Cafe at noon. The Mayor encouraged the members of the council and officers of the city to attend. li PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMITTEE - DON MEYERS: A meeting was held March 2 , 1978, at 7:00 p.m., with Burlington Northern and people living on Shannon Road. I There are two households who do not have city sewer, and Mr. Meyers would like council approval for them to hook up. He felt that if they I would sign a waiver of annexation that they should be able to hook up ~i since everyone else in that area is already on the sewer. Motion by Alderman Kilpatrick that Judy and Terry Krum and Elvie oar b~o9^~°~ Edgmond be allowed to hook up to city sewer at their own expense, provided I that they sign the waiver of annexation, seconded by Alderman Ehrlick. Carried. Motion by Alderman Meyers that the minutes dated March 24, 1979, be entered into the official record, seconded by Alderman Ehrlick. Carried. i PUBLIC HEARING: I A public hearing was held in accordance with public notice dated ~ April 25, 1879, regarding final application for a Community Development I~ Block Grant Small Cities Program in the amount of $151,000.00 for the purpose of Sewer Trunk Line Extension (HUD grant). There were no pro- testors present at this meeting. ~I Sue Carter publicly commended Tom Kilpatrick and Chuck Rodgers for I their years of service to the city. The Mayor joined her in extending his appreciation of a fine job done during the past years. Harold Burns received permission to leave the state. There being no further business to come before the council at this I''~ time, the meeting adjourned at 7:3 p. t? o d L.
