CORRESPONDENCE: Letter was read From the Board of Natural Resources concerning applications for water reservations. The City of Laurel was granted 7,1. 1 acre feet per year through 2007. Letter was read from the Department of Housing and Urban Development stating they will accept applications for newly constructed and or substantially rehabilitated housing units under the Section 202 Direct Loan Program for Housing For the elderly or handicapped.. This letter referred to the Planning Board for further stud-. Letter was read from HUD acknowledging receipt of car Community Development Block Grant Preapplication Number B-79-DS--30- 001.. Another letter was read. from HUD requesting Further information on this application. Mayor reported that according to the bond buyers index the current interest rate is 6.22%. LEON HOE -- SID NO 100 AND 1.01: Leon Howe stated that since all construction bids on S.I.D. No. 1.00 were over the Engineers estimate, that all bids be rejected. Motion. . Alderman Ro2gers: That all construction bids for S.I.D. No. 100 be re'ected. Seconded by Alderman Burns. Seconded by Alderman Kilpatrick. Carried. MAYOR IS COMNMTS*,p Mayor would like Council approval of his appointment of Mary MdOormick to the Planning Board to fill the unexpired term of Jack Mayes. Motion by Alderman Ehrlick: To approve the appointment of Mary McCormick to the Planning Board* Seconded by Alderman Massey. Motion carried. Mayor Publicly thanked the Auxiliary Police for the work they have been doing. Aldeman Burns commended the Street Department on their good work. Discussion regarding the Rifle Club gas bill. Alderman Metzger talked to Lee Kerr and they are going to Day it. Mayor stated that Bill Barnettj manager of Red Lodge Mt.j has extended an invitation to the City of Laurel to participate in the festivities of the Winter Carnival on February 232 24 & 25.
