HomeMy WebLinkAboutSpecial City Council Minutes 09.23.1980Minutes of the City Council of Laurel September 23, 1980 A Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana, was held in the Council Chambers and called to order by Mayor Larry D. Herman, at 7:55 p.m., on September 23, 1980, for the purpose of discus- sing and reviewing the new Union Labor Contract and establishing pay in- creases for Non-union empioyees. COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Albert Ehrlick Duane Behm Donald Meyers COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: Harold Burns Bill Brennan Susan Carter Ervin Metzger Terry Fink Alderwoman Carter presented the proposed 2-yr. Union contract. Discussion. Motion by Alderman Ehrlick to approve the Union contract for years 1980--81 and 1981--82 and to give the Mayor authority to enter into a contract with the Union as negotiated by the Negotiation Committee, seconded by Alderman Brennan. Carried. Discussion followed regarding raises for non-union employees. Motion by Alderman Meyers that raises will be determined on a weighted average basis, with the Department Heads figured separately from other non- union personnel. The raises calculated on the weighted average basis will be 9% for 1980--81 and 9½% for 1981--82, retroactive to July 1, 1980, seconded by Alderman Metzger. Carried with Alderwoman Carter voting "no." There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, the meeting was adjourned Approved by the Mayor and passed by the City Council Laurel, Montana, this 7th day of October, 1980. ~~Kar~-y ~).
