A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana~
was held in the Council Chambers and called to order by Mayor, Larry D.
for the purpose of discussing
Herman, at 6:35 p.m., on September 3, 1980,
the Mayor's veto of the garbage compactor.

Donald Meyers

Discussion by Alderman Behm regarding the garbage budget.
Motion by Alderman Behm that the City Council override the Mayor's
on the purchase of a compactor, seconded by Alderman Ehrlick.
Discussion regarding the tight budget and the possibility of a l~w
if the compactor is purchased.
A roll call vote was taken as follows:
Alderman Ehrlick - yes
Alderman Burns - yes
Alderman Behm - yes
Alderman Meyers - no
Alderman Brennan - yes
Alderwoman Carter - yes
Alderman Fink - no
Alderman Metzger no
Since there was a vote of 5--3, the Mayor's veto stands.
There being no further business to come before the Council at this
the meeting was adjourned at 6:55 p.m. f
