PRESENT: Albert Ehrlick

COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: Duane Behm
to order by Mayor Larry D.
Bill Brennan
Terry Fink
Ervin Metzger
Susan Carter
INVOCATION: Invocation given by Reverend Wilhelm.
MINUTES: Minutes of the regular meeting of February 5, 1980, approved as
presented.
December's financial reports were submitted by the Treasurer and
the City Clerk.
COLEN RAMSEY: Representing the Homebuilders and Developers in Laurel.
They had a meeting last week and discussed Ordinances 674 through
677 and as these ordinances read right now they do not believe that they
are feasible to live w~h.
The 90-day period that is mentioned would virtually make it impossible
to build.
What they would like is that these four ordinances be thrown out, and
a committee be appointed by the City Council to try and come up with a
solution to the problem. Ail of the people agree that there is a problem
in the City trying to get the streets and improvements done and that some-
thing has to be done about it for the future.
The Mayor and Council felt that maybe the 90-day provision mentioned
in Ordinances 675 and 676 was not allowing sufficient time and therefore
the Mayor vetoed that portion of these ordinances.
Amendments to Ordinances 675 and 676 will be prepared and presented
at the next regular council meeting.
There being no further business to come before the council at this
time, the meeting was adjourned a~7 p.m.

hereby partially veto that portion of Ordinance No. 675

No. 676 reading as follows: "or shall be completed in not
less than ninety (90) days"; the remainder of the ordinance
is not vetoed and shall remain as presented.
Th~ reason for the veto being that it is felt that ninety
(90} days is insufficient time in which to put in the improve-
.ments required and as such the partial vetoes are in the best
interest of the City of Laurel.
