CITY HALL CONFERENCE ROOM MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Bud Johnson Ken Olson Chuck Rodgers OTHERS PRESENT: Jan Faught Mary Embleton Ambulance Director Jan Faught was present to inform the committee of her plans to designate an attendant as vehicle maintenance person with a salary of $50 per month and an education instruction position with a salary of $25 per class. Jan explained that these positions are within her budget. She went on to tell the committee that she would like to send Dan Koch to a Wheeled Coach Certified Technician School on February 7th and 8th in Orlando, Florida. There is no cost for the school, but the city would have to pay travel expenses, meals and lodging. This will allow the city to order parts directly from the factory, perform warranty work on the new ambulance, and also perform work on the Whalen light bars for police, fire and ambulance. The costs also are within budget. The committee thanked Jan for the information. The committee reviewed and approved the following purchase requisitions: GENERAL FUND: Repair and maintenance of FAP heating unit Repair FAP boiler Repairs to Care 2 ambulance Travel expenses to technical school Automatic external defibrillator (ambulance) Install new heaters in city shops $ 917.58 903.04 1,348.00 620.( 0 3,167.00 4,411.00 POLICE TRAINING FUND: Tuition - Law Enforcement Management 675.00 STREET MAINTENANCE DISTRICT FUND: Vehicle monitor 1,000.00 WATER FUND: Liquid alum for plant Cat Floc TL for plant Repair clamps for system Hydrant repair kits 2,750.00 1,820.00 509.02 504.00 GARBAGE FUND: Tires for G-1 Donation to Christmas tree chipping program 559.76 500.00 The committee reviewed the December claims totaling $606,253.47 and recommended to the council that they be paid. The committee reviewed the comp/OT hours for PPE 12/26/99 and also reviewed and approved the payroll register for PPE 12/26/99. Mary reported the status of the computer system to the committee. She said that the new system was fully operational for Y2K and that Black Mountain Software will be here the end of the week for more data capture and to install a new hub and configure the last computer.
