BEINO AN ORDINANCE RE-AFFIRFn/NG THE "UNIFOP~ BUILDINO
CODE" AS THE BUILD/ND CODE OF THE CITY OF LAUREL.
WHEREAS, the City Council of tbm City of Laurel has previously adopted as
its building code a document entitled "Uniform Building Code," published,
prepared, and adopted by the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference, and
WHerEAS, the Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference has been replaced
by the International Conference cf Building Officials, and the City of Laurel
has not adopted the changes, amendments and modifications to the Building
Code since the last revision of the City Ordinances in 1975, and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest and necessity that the Building
Code of the City of Laurel be made current,
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED:
A certain document, one (1) copy cf which is on file in the office of the
city engineer, designated as "Uniform Building Code," 1976 edition, and any
~m~ndments, additions, new editions or modifications made thereto, since
publication of the bound volume, published and adopted by the International
Building Officials Cca~ference, with certain revisions and modifications by
the said City of Laurel, shall be the building code of the City for the
regulating, erection, construction, enlargement, alteration, repairing,
moving, removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, heighth,
area and m-~ntenance of all buildings or structures in the city; providing
for the issuance of permits and collection cf fees therefor and providing
penalties for violation, Ail of the regulatioms, provisions, penalties,
I conditions and terms of said "Uniform Building Code" are hereby mede a part
I of this chapter and/or ordinance as if fully set ~ut herein.
Introduced at a regular meeting cf the City Council on February 1, 1977,
by Alderman Kilp~atrick .
PASSED and APPROVED by the Ci~ City of Laurel, this 1st
day of March, 1977. This ordin ' March 2, 1977.
