ORDINANCE NO. 637
BEING AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING OF CAMP
TRAILERS AND OTHER CHATTELS
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Laurel,
Montana:
Section 1: Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to
insure that vehicles will not block the view of traffic or create
a safety hazard by obstructing the view of motorists.
Section 2: Parking - - where permitted and prohibited. Auto-
mobiles, boats, camp trailers, mobile homes, or other chattels,
under twenty-seven (27) feet in length, being manufacturer's
specifications, may be stored~s within the City; however, it
shall be unlawful for any person or firm to store these articles on
any property within the City where any portion of the article or
vehicle is closer than ten (10) feet to the property line or
obstructs the view of motorists backing from their driveways or the
view of motorists already on a street.
Section 3: Five (5) day limit. All automobiles, boats, camp
trailers, campers, or mobile homes over twenty-seven (27) feet,
shall not be parked on any city street for a period exceeding five
(5) days without moving, except when stored as provided in this
Ordinance. If the automobile, boat, camp trailer, mobile home or
other chattel is moved after the five (5) days allowed herein, it
shall not be reparked anywhere within a one-hundred, ~fifty (150)
foot radius of the previous parking place.
Section 4: Penalty. Any person violating any of the provi-
sions of this Ordinance shall be fined no less than FIVE DOLLARS
($5.00) and no more than TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($25.00) for the first
offense; no less than TEN DOLLARS ($10.00) and no more than FIFTY
DOLLARS ($50.00) for the second offense and no less than TWENTY-
FIVE DOLLARS' ($25.00) and no more than ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00
for each offense thereafter.

Section 5: Separate Offenses. Each such person is guilty of
a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of
which any violation of any provision of the Ordinance of the City
is committed, continued, or permitted by any such person, and each
shall be punished accordingly.
Section 6: Repeal. Ordinance No. 629 is hereby repealed.
Ail other ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with any of the
provisions herein contained are hereby repealed.
Section 7: Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect thirty (30) days after passage herewith.
