WHEREAS, it is in the public interest and necessity that the City of Laurel establish the office of and define the duties of the Maintenance Director, IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED: There is hereby created the office of Maintenance Director, who shall be appointed annually by the mayor, hy a~d with the advise and consent of the council, on the first day of May, or as soon thereafter as possible. He shall hold his office for the term of one (1) year and until his successor is appointed and has qualified. Before entering upon the duties of his office, he shall take the oath prescribed by law for all city officers. The duties of the Maimtenanc® Director are as follows: 1) To supervise operations of city crew, street department, solid waste, shop and m~t~tenance of water and sewer lines. 2) To order equipment a~d supplies needed. 3) To work with city officials, Personnel Director, engineer, and Public Utilities Supervisor on projects to best utilize funds and man power. h) To schedule personnel and conrdinate vacations with Personnel Director as per working agreement, make up a yearly work schedule and budget. Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council on February 15, 1977, by Alderman Kilpatrick PASSED and APPROVED by the City of Laurel, this 15th day of March, 1977.
