HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 656ORDINANCE NO. 656 BEING AN ORDINANCE SETTING AN ADMINISTRATIVE CHARGE FOR SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAUREL: Section 1: That whereas, the City incurs certain administrative expense and is forced to levy a tax for revolving fund purposes in re- gard to Special Improvement Districts, and whereas, the City finds it necessary that said Special Improvement Districts bear a portion of the administrative expense incurred there- by, NOW THEREFORE, BE rr ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Laurel that from and after the effective date of this Ordinance all Special Improvement Districts shall be assessed five (5%) percent of the total cost of said district, which said five (5%) percent shall be paid out of bond sales to the City and shall be used for the purpose of covering ad- ministrative expense. The City Council shall, from time to time, separate such collections to the various departments and funds as the City Council may find necessary to cover costs of the districts. Section 2: The City Council herewith finds that an emergency exists and that this Ordinance shall be in full force upon its passage. l~assed and approved this 19th day of December, 1978.
