AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE CONSUMPTION
OF ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR ON PUBLIC WAY --
PARKING LOT.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Laurel there
is hereby added to the Laurel Municipal Code Section 5.36.115
which is to read as follows:
Section 5.36.115 Consumption of alcoholic liquor on public
way -- Parking lot.
a) It shall be unlawful for any person to drink, consume,
transport, carry or possess any alcoholic liquor,
except in the original package and with the seal un-
broken, on the public street, sidewalk, parkway,
public parking lot or semipublic parking lot. The
term "Semipublic parking lot" shall include any area
wherein motor vehicles are parked by the public in
conjunction with any business, enterprise, commercial
establishment, office building or apartment building.
b) Any person, firm, or corporation violating the pro-
visions of this ordinance shall be fined not less
than twenty-five dollars {$25.00) or more than five-
hundred dollars ($500.00) for each offense, and a
separate offense shall be deemed committed on each
day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
Passed by the Laurel City Council and approved by the
Mayor this 17th day of April, 1979.
