Board Meeting Minutes
The Meeting was held on November 21s at Guadalajara. In attendance were: Executive Board
Members: President - John Mataisz, VP- Jared Kaiser, Secretary Joanne Flynn and her assistant Marcia
Hafner. Directors: Tim Bronk, Janelle Crowley, Heidi Jensen, Dr. Ed Madrid, Jennifer Ries, Christy Williams
and Alternate Joe Statser. Members: Monica Plecker, Julie Johnson; and guest Judy Goldsby from LURA &
Tom Latos, new publisher of the Laurel Outlook.
John called the meeting to order.
The minutes were approved: moved to approve - Ed, 2n - Joe.
The finandal report was approved and bills were presented for payment: moved to approve - Joe, 2 -
Jared.
NEW BUSINESS
• Sound System Agreement - There was much discussion regarding if we should require
a deposit or rent. Who to rent/ loan the system to was also discussed. It was decided to
table the issue until Joanne could consult with Dan Dart regarding any liability issues that
may arise if we rent out the system.
• Dec. 1 - Date to put up the Christmas decorations. A sign up for volunteers was passed
around.
• New Board Members - We will vote at the board's Dec. meeting. We need 3 new board
members and an alternate. Volunteers so far are:
o Molly Conrad of Crazy Mountain Inc.
o Holly Anderson from Wood's Pow'r Grip.
o Ruben Delzer of Laurel Power Systems.
o Jeanette Gebhard from Maurer Chiropractic
o Donnie McVee from Laurel Public Schools.
• New Executive Board Members - Jared was nominated for president and Michelle was
nominated for Co -Vice President.
• December Meeting - It was decided to keep it on the 3 Thursday, Dec. 19
• Holiday Open House -It was decided to hold the Open House on December 10
Tuesday. A sign -up sheet was passed around for people to bring goodies.
OLD BUSINESS
• Spotlight on Business - Always looking for new.
• Email has been changed.
OPEN FORUM
• Bountiful Baskets - Christy brought up that Bountiful Baskets is looking for an indoor
location to make up and hand out baskets. They would like to use the Chamber building
every other Saturday. Christy said she would be there and supervise. Christy motioned to
approve, Joe- 2 Approved.
• LURA - Judy Goldsby explained what LURA is. LURA has hired a consultant to work on
goals & ideas to benefit the community. The LURA board would like to meet with the
Chamber board to create a master plan with a cohesive approach from both groups. It was
decided to meet Dec. 5 at the school administration building at noon.

Sound System Agreement -
Note- spoke to insurance company -it makes no difference in liability if rented or loaned. It would not
be worth getting a liability rider (floater) unless the value is a minimum of $2,000.00
