BEING AN ORDINANCE LIMITING CITY WATER SERVICE OUTSIDE OF
THE CITY LIMITS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAUREL:
Section L - Service Outside City Limits
No water or sewer services shall be extended outside of the incor-
porated city limits without meeting the following conditions:
(1) The premises are in the same condition as is required for
premises within the corporate limits;
(2) The city system is capable of serving the area;
(3) The extension is in the best interest of the city;
(4) The cost of the extension shall be at the expense of the
requesting party; and
(5) The City Council has granted its approval.
Section 2. Waiver of Annexation.
Any person, firm, or corporation receiving water or sewer services
outside of the incorporated city limits shall, as a condition to initiate such
service, consent to annexation of the tract of property served by ~he city.
The consent to annexation is limited to that tract or parcel, or portion of
tract or parcel, that is clearly and immediately, and not potentially, being
serviced by the water or sewer.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30 days after its
passage.
