HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 668 ORDINANCE NO. 668 DECLARING THAT A PUBLIC NUISANCE EXISTS WHENEVER ICE, SNOW, MUD, SLUSH, OR OTHER IMPEDIMENT TO SAFE PEDESTRIAN TRAVEL ARE ALLOWED TO ACCUMULATE OR REMAIN ON PUBLIC SIDEWALKS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAUREL: Section 1. That there is hereby added to the Laurel Municipal Code Section 8.04.110, which is to read as follows: "8.04.110 Ice~ snow, slush on sidewalks. It is a public nuisance for the owner, occupant or person otherwise in charge or control of any premises within the city limits to allow any ice, snow, slush, mud, or other impediment to safe pedes- trian travel to accumulate or remain on any sidewalk in front of or adjoining such premises. The person in charge or con- trol of the premises must remove any such impediment from the sidewalks within twenty-four (24) hours after its accumu- lation thereon, and must keep the sidewalks clean and safe for pedestrian travel at all times." Section 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days after its first reading. PASSED and APPROVED this 18th day of September, 1979. -homas Lf radley, ~ity Attorney
