HomeMy WebLinkAboutChamber of Commerce (7) Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting Minutes Oct. 17 2013 The Meeting was held on Oct. 17 at the Palace. In attendance were: Executive Board Members: President - John Mataisz, VP- Jared Kaiser, Co -VP - Angela Klein & daughter, Secretary Joanne Flynn and her assistant Marcia Hafner. Directors: Clyde Barton, Michelle DeBoer, Heidi Jensen, Jennifer Ries and Alternate Joe Statser. Members: Renee Studiner, Phyllis Bromgard and Beth Hofferber. Guests: Police Chief Rick Musson. John called the meeting to order. The minutes were approved: moved to approve - Angela, 2" - Heidi. Approved. The financial report was approved and bills were presented for payment: moved to approve - Angela, 2" - Clyde. Approved. NEW BUSINESS • New Members - Mr. Fix It (James Armstrong), Uniquely You Planning (Wendy Means) and Ray Landscaping (Dirk Ray). • Laurel Lions' Board - The Lions have a Christmas Sign Board. Joanne asked for $50 to put the Chamber logo on it. Moved to approve- Angela, 2 - Renee. Approved. • Christmas Decorations - It was asked if we could put them up the Sunday before Thanksgiving instead of the week after. There was no action. • Laurel Revitalization League - As per agreement, a check is written for $110 for the use of Town Square during the Laurel Downtown Farmers' Market. Voted to pay- Angela, 2 " Heidi. Approved. OLD BUSINESS • Farmers' Market - Joanne reported that because of the rain, the last 2 weeks were very slow. Total income for the year was $1,133. • Spotlight on Business - Always looking for new. • Chamber Sign- Joanne brought in a sample from Dynamic Design. Moved to accept - Clyde, 2 " Joe. Approved. Marcia brought up that we need to look at the location. The city would like it in a place that they can mow around. Renee thought wrapping the base in metal would help protect it from the weed eater. • Postage Machine - Ordered. Joanne reported that it will not cost us more. OPEN FORUM • Email Address- Several months ago we talked about changing our email address to match our web site. Marcia asked permission to go ahead with that. Moved to approve - Angela, 2 " Renee. Approved. • July 4 Parade- Police chief Rick Musson would like to extend the no parking to the entire parade route. Last year they ticketed one car, towed one, and contacted 6 or 7 owners. He thought the no parking was very successful. Meeting - Vote for new Board members Volunteers so far are: Molly Conrad of Crazy Mountain Inc. - Holly Anderson from Wood's Pow'r Grip Jeanette Gebhard from Dr. Maurer (Will let me know) Ruban or Joan Delzer (Will let me know) • Vote for Executive Board members. • Volunteers so far are: Jared Kaiser Pres. • Decide Date for Dec.
