Council Conference Room MEMBERS PRESENT: Doug Poehls Tom Nelson Mark Mace OTHERS PRESENT: Mayor Olson Cathy Gabrian Chairman Mark Mace called the regular meeting of the Budget/Finance Committee to order at 5:30 p.m. There was no one from the public present. The minutes of the October 15, 2013 meeting were presented and approved via motion by Tom, seconded by Doug, and passed unanimously. The October claims totaling $554,194.49 were presented for council consent. Claims were approved, via motion by Doug, seconded by Tom and passed unanimously. There were no purchase requisitions presented to the committee. The Comp /OT reports for PPE 10/13/13 and PPE 10/27/13 were reviewed. One report reflects overtime for a holiday. The Payroll Registers for PPE 10/13/13 totaling $170,360.21 and PPE 10/27/13 totaling $183,365.72 were reviewed by the committee. Motion was made by Doug and seconded by Tom, to recommend council approval of the payroll registers. Motion passed. Clerk/Treasurer's Comments: Cathy had no comments. Mayor's Comments: West Interchange Mayor Olson said when he gets the map; he will present it to Council Workshop. Mark said he looked at the area on Google Earth. It was discussed that it looks like it has moved over so it will only involve one land owner. It comes close to Figgins pond and the pond may be filled in some. It appears the change will straighten the bridge but the road will curve after the bridge. Mayor Olson said it will come off on Golf Course Road. Doug said the interchange needs on and off ramps both ways to help alleviate access problems to the south side of Laurel. The way it stands, there are no benefits to the city. Mark said an overpass that would connect north and south 8 Avenues would benefit the city. The next regular Budget/Finance meeting will be Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. Tom will not be at the meeting.
