HomeMy WebLinkAboutChamber of Commerce (6) Laurel Chamber of Commerce Board Meeting Minutes The Meeting was held on September 19th at Emma's. In attendance were: Executive Board Members: President - John Mataisz, Secretary Joanne Flynn and her assistant Marcia Hafner. Directors: Tim Bronk, Janelle Crowley, Dan Dart, Jennifer Ries, and Christy Williams. Members: Beth Hofferber. Guest speaker: Jillann Knutson from Beartooth RC&D. John called the meeting to order. The minutes were approved: moved to approve - Tim, 2" - Dan, passed. The financial report was approved and bills were presented for payment: moved to approve - Janelle, 2" - Dan, passed. NEW BUSINESS • Guest Speaker- Jillann Knutson spoke about Beartooth RC&D. It is a non - profit economic development group. They have lots of programs to offer. There is a revolving loan division for small businesses, marketing grants, and business assistance programs. They also work with the Incumbent Workers Training Grants. • New Members - None. • Transfer of Funds - Joanne suggested we move $10,000 from checking to savings. Moved to approve - Tim, 2 " Christy, passed. • Farmers Market Report - Joanne reported that last week we had several new vendors, but support from the community could be better. The Market does not get a lot of customers after the initial rush. • Lunch & Learn =Entre technologies will be presenting a seminar on Customer Service. Lunch will be Subway boxes and the cost will cover the lunches. This is for all members and employees. OLD BUSINESS • Spotlight on Business - Always looking for new. • New Sign - Dynamic Designs has placed a bid of about $750, with a material that is guaranteed for 5 years. He will send a proof to the board before it is completed. Moved to approve -Dan, 2nd — Tim, passed. • Large sign - It is down. OPEN FORUM • Changed time - Christy brought up that noon meetings are extremely difficult for her to make. She would like an early morning meeting or an evening meeting. Joanne said she would poll the board. • Business after Hours -. o September - Montana Diet Center & Chiropractic Plus o October - Christmas to Remember o November - The school will provide the food if another business would like to provide the place and the beverages.
