PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
MONDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2013 5:30 P.M.

Public Input:
There was no public input.
The City of Laurel Public Works Committee met on Monday evening at 5:30 p.m. and had a tour
of four projects with narration from the Director of Public Works. The first stop on the bus tour
was the Wastewater Treatment Facility. Met by facility Supervisor Tim Reiter, he explained the
current process to convert some portions of the plant to accept new processes.
The second stop was the south side of Riverside Park. Kurt explained the process the contractor
will be using to re- establish the river bank that was lost during the 2011 flood.
The third stop was SID No.115, where the contractor was busy grading West 5th Avenue from
West Main Street to West Third Street.
The fourth and last stop was at the site of the SID No. 116 on Cottonwood Avenue. Work was
done for the day, but the Committee got a firsthand look at the conditions of the sidewalk and
how much had to be repaired.
The meeting was completed at 7:15 p.m.
