Foundation president can meet with Nancy to review the document.

New Business
Nancy reported that she has been asked to allow two interns to work at the library during the summer. Valerie
Naumann needs to work for 90 hours and Lori Hodges needs 60 hours. Both interns are taking teacher /librarian
positions at Laurel schools in the fall. They need to complete their library media endorsements before the start of
the 13/14 school year.
Dixie's term on the Board expires June 30, 2013. She has been sent a letter from Mayor Olson's office asking if
she would like to extend her term for 5 more years. Dixie stated that she has replied in the affirmative. Her next
term expires on June 30, 2018.
Mary Freund has asked for future memorial ideas for the library. She thought it would be a wonderful idea if we
could create a list of items that could be donated in memoriam to loyal patrons. One suggestion was a memorial
bench for the front lawn. We would also like to have several other suggestions for future reference.
Changing the day of meeting was suggested to help accommodate tightening schedules. This item was discussed
and tabled for the next meeting.
Our Summer Reading Program started June 3 and runs through August 3 2013. We have 45 registered readers
as of this date.
Other
Ancestry Library Edition and Heritage Quest are up for renewal. Statistics state that we had 350 original searches
completed on Ancestry last year. Since we have to keep Heritage Quest to continue the Ancestry subscription it
was decided that we will continue with both databases.
Nancy will be leaving on vacation June 27 2013 for a family wedding in Minnesota. She will return July 2 but
will not be back to work until Monday, July 7, 2013.
