AMENDING CHAPTER 17.44 OF THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL
CODE REGARDING HOME OCCUPATION DESIGNATIONS
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Laurel, Montana,
that Chapter 17.44 of the Laurel Municipal Code is amended in
part to read as follows:
Section 17.44.010 B
(1) (g) The home occupation shall be deemed to be both
site specific and owner specific; thus, the use
of a portion of a structure as a home occupation
will not permit a subsequent owner an automatic
home occupation designation. The new owner will
be required to meet all of the criteria contained
within this section.
(3) Any person who intends to use a portion of his dwelling
unit for a home occupation not delineated in 17.44.010 B
(2) of this ordinance shall be required to submit a written
request to be designated a home occupation. This written
request shall be submitted to the Planning Board seven
(7) working days prior to their regularly scheduled
meeting.
The Planning Board shall consider the request at their
regularly scheduled meeting. The Planning Board shall recommend
to the City Council that the specific request for a home occupa-
tion designation be granted or denied.
The City Council shall consider the Planning Board's recom-
mendation concerning the specific home occupation designation and
shall approve or deny the request at their next regularly scheduled
meeting.
