HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 700 ORDINANCE NO. 700 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING NON PARTISAN ELECTIONS IN THE CITY OF LAUREL, MONTANA. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LAUREL: Section 1. There is hereby added to the Laurel Municipal Code Section 2.04.015 which is to read: Section 2.04.015 Non Partisan Elections A. All elections for offices in the City of Laurel shall be conducted on a non partisan basis. B. All elections shall be conducted as provided for non partisan elections under Title 13, Chapter 14, Montana Codes Annotated. Section 2. Effective date. If approved by the electorate~ this ordinance shall be effective January 1, 1983. Section 3. Submission to electors. This ordinance shall be submitted to the electors of the City of Laurel at a special election to be held in and for said City on November 2, 1982, by printing on the ballot the full title, and the following: / / FOR conducting all City elections on a non partisan b@sis. basis. Section 4. The special election shall manner as required by law. Section 5. The notice of said special ele¢tion shall be published and posted in the manner and at the time required by law. Section 6. The City Clerk shall notify the Yellowstone County election administrator of said special election.
