HomeMy WebLinkAboutLease Task Force Minutes 04.15.2013 Lease Taskforce April 15, 2013 In attendance: Mayor Olson, Bruce McGee, Bill Mountsier Others: Curtis Lord, Iry Wilke Bruce McGee opened the meeting at 5:34. There was no public comment. Bill Mountsier made a motion to accept the minutes as presented. Bruce McGee seconded. The motion carried. Bruce asked the Rod and Gun Club if they were comfortable moving forward with two leases, one for the building and the other for the grounds. Curtis Lord and Iry Wilke agreed the group would like continue moving forward. Curtis stated one of his concerns regarded lawn maintenance based on the number of shoots they can have. The Mayor stated he would look into the issue, consult staff and report back. Curtis also asked about the insurance policy. The Mayor stated Curtis should look into the special event insurance. The Mayor asked the group what would be the next logical step be if a consensus could not be reached on the insurance aggregate issue. The group agreed, the lease would not move forward.. The Mayor suggested that the lease be placed on the April 30 workshop agenda. Bill also suggested a report be given to the Council at the next meeting. The Mayor also suggested that the group allow for one or two more weeks for the insurance issue to be resolved by the Rod and Gun Club. Bruce stated one thing that the Council seemed to believe was lacking was a coordinated security plan to prevent unauthorized shooting. The Mayor agreed and said he was working with legal counsel to get the final phrasing for signage. He also said annexation of the park will be forthcoming. The Mayor also added that the protocol and map would be included as exhibits to the lease. Bruce asked and the Mayor confirmed his understanding that the City would be responsible for fencing and signage. There was some discussion on the specifics of fencing. The group agreed there was no need for anything other than a pedestrian gate. Bruce stated the remaining concerns included lawn maintenance and insurance, as well as, security. Iry stated the Club would notify their membership as best they could that the shooting facility has concluded accept for those approved events. The next scheduled meeting will be April 29, 2013 at 5:30. Bill Mountsier motioned for adjournment. The motion was seconded by Bruce. The meeting was adjourned at 6:08. Respectfully, Monica Plecker
