ADOPTING A REVISION AND CODIFICATION OF
THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL CODE, 1982.
BE IT ORDAINED by the CounciI of the City of Laurel:
Section 1: That there is hereby adopted that certain code
entitled "The City of Laurel Municipal Code, 1982" containing
certain ordinances of a general and permanent nature, as revised,
codified and indexed in the Titles 1--20 both inclusive, and
all chapters and sections therein, and which is hereby referred
to and adopted by reference as if incorporated and set out at
length in this ordinance.
Section 2: That the provisions of such code shall be in
force on and after the date upon which this ordinance becomes
effective, and all ordinances of a general and permanent nature
in force on February 1 , 1983, and not contained in
this code are hereby re~pea~ed from and after the date upon
which this ordinance $ecomes effective, except as herein after
provided.
Section 3: That the repeal provided for in the preceding
section of this ordinance shall not affect any offense or act
committed or done or any penalty or forfeiture incurred or any
contract or right established or accruing before the date upon
which the "City of Laurel Municipal Code, 1982" becomes effective;
nor shall such repeal affect any ordinance or resolution promising
or guaranteeing the payment of money for the City or authorizing
the issue of the City's indebtedness, or any contract or obligation
assumed by the City; nor shall such repeal affect the administra-
tive ordinances or resolutions of the Council not in conflict
or inconsistent with the provisions of such code; nor shall
it affect the annual tax levy; nor shall it affect any right
or franchise conferred by ordinance or resolution of the City
on any person or corporation; nor shalI it affect any ordinance
relative to the salaries of City officers and employees; nor
shall it affect any ordinance annexing territory to the City;
nor shall it affect any ordinance naming, opening or vacating
streets or alleys in the City; nor shall it affect any prosecu-
tion, suit or proceeding pending or any judgement rendered on
or prior to the date upon which "The City of Laurel Municipal
Code, 1982" becomes effective; nor shall it affect any ordinance
passed after P~b~ry 1 , 1983.
Section 4: That this' ordinance shall be in effect thirty
(30) days after its passage by the Council of the City of Laurel.

January 18, 1983, by Alderman Kellogg

the entire Council present.
