EMERGENCY WATERING ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the city finds that it is neoessary to perform
repair and maintenance work on the City reservoir system; and
WHEREAS~ the said repair and maintenance will result in
shortages of water to all water users on the City system; and
WHEREAS~ the City finds that an emergency exists neoes-
sitating the passage of this ordinance in order to protect
the peace, health, and safety of City residents and water
users,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council
of the City of Laurel, Montana, as follows:
1. That beginning May B, 198B, and extending for a period
of ninety (90) days thereafter, no City resident or other
City water user shall water or irrigate any lawn or
garden, nor use in any manner, City water for outdoor
purposes except as in accordance with the following
schedule:
odd numbered houses may water on odd numbered days
even numbered houses may water on even numbered days
2. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance
shall be punished in conform£ty with Section 1.16.020
of the Laurel Municipal Code.
B. The City Council hereby waives a second reading of this
ordinance, and this ordinance shall be immediately effective
upon passage and approval upon first reading.

PASSED by the Laurel City Council and APPROVED by the
Mayor this 3rd day of May, 1983.
