Called to order at 5:32pm. 1. No public comment. Previous items discussed: Boy Scout Levi Foster from local Troop 400 wants to do an Eagle Scout project benefiting the city parks. He would like to build a bench and signs. He will set up a meeting with Kurt to decide details of the project, which parks to include, etc. 2. We met at the Laurel Swimming Pool to look over the grounds and discuss a proposed splash park site. The Park Board will contact heirs and friends of BiIIy Riddle family to determine how to use the funds she donated to the city. After that discussion, the Park Board will hold a public meeting to see if anyone in the community objects to using the funds towards a splash park rather than a swimming pool. A possible name would remember BiIIy Riddle: Riddles Ripple. 3. A Park Master plan was received from Peaks to Plains Design, PC. This plan will help us to determine how to develop the parks we currently have in a systematic manner and to identify future parks for development. The plan has various options and costs included for those options are at current prices, approx. $40,000. Action item: All board members to read paperwork handed out by Mark and tasks in the plan submitted and prioritize what we think are important tasks. Then, we'll meet again on Thursday, April 11 at 5:30pm to discuss. Kurt will call around and find other firms to submit Master Plans and bids to ensure this company is comparable in price. At the pool outside, the board discussed various options for location of the spray park. We talked about going south of the current pool and extent the concrete east of the current slab for the spray park. Add shade umbrellas for adults and possibly reuse the tennis court fencing when the tennis courts are taken down. The Park Board Meeting adjourned at 6:15pm. Submitted by Gretchen Paulson, Park Board member.
