AMENDING SECTION 11.04.015A, STREET AND
ALLEY CUTS, OF THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Laurel,
that Section 11.04.015 A of the Laurel Municipal Code is
amended to read as follows:
Section 11.04.015 A Street and Alley Cuts Ail street
and alley cuts will be backfilled with com'pacted 3/4" max.
road mix gravel, MPW standard specs, 3/4 max. "Grade B"
Section 58C. Compaction shall meet 95% maximum density
of AASHTO T99 Method C, or satisfactory to the City
Engineer.
Ail pavement cuts where asphalt surfacing is in place
will be surfaced with ~M/~f/~~/M~/~Z~/~f~Y equivalent
or greater depth of approved material as designated by the
City Engineer. rest of ordinance remains unchanged.
This ordinance shall become effective 30 days after
final passage by the Laurel City Council.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of %he City of Laurel, there
:is hereby add~ to. the Laurel Municipal C to Section 11.04
the following:
Section 11.04.015' RequirinE payment of Inspection Fees
and posting of Bonds by any person, party, corporation, business,
or utility desiring to Perform construction or maintenance work
in Woads, streets, alleys, or thorou&hfares in the City of Laurel,
Montana~ before such work may be started (i.e. street utility
cuts for buried cable, electrical, telephone, cable TV and gas
lineS).
A. Ai'i street and alley cuts will be backfilled with compacted
3/4" max. road mi~ gravel, MPW standard Specs, 3/4 max.
"Grade B" Section 58C. compaction shall meet 95% maximum
density of AASHTO T99 Method C, or satlsfactory to the
City Engineer.
All pavement cuts where asphalt surfacing is in place will
be surfaced with 3" of compacted hot' pil~nt mix. Where con-
cret~ is in place~ concrete for full depth of concrete paving
will be replaced with concrete.
Cuts for water and sewer will be backfilled with compacted
3/4 mix gravel, MFW standard specs, "Grade B" Section 58C.
B. All excavated material .from street cuts will be removed
from city streets and alleys.
C. Bonding requirements are a minimum of Two-Thousand Dollars ~
($2,000.00) each cut with additional bonding required for
each addit£onal cut 'and cuts larger than one block (300').
D. Fees for cuts will be: In alleys and unsurfaced streets
five cents ($.05) per linear foot. Graded streets will be
six cents ($~06 per foot. In paved streets ten cents ($.10)
per foot. :
