AMENDING SECTION 13.04.030, INSTALLATION, OF THE
LAUREL MUNICIPAL CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Laurel, that Section
13.04.080 of the Laurel Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Section 13.04.080 Installation.
A) All lot owners applying for water hookup or user shall provide and
install, at their own expense, all necessary meter loops, valves, check
valves, and fittings according to City requirements and specifications
as determined by the Water Commissioner~ prior to obtaining water service.
B) An application for introduction of water service to any premises
must be signed by the owner thereof and must be made on the regular
form furnished by the City. Tapping onto. the main service line will
be done by the City. All expenses of laying and maintaining service
pipes from the main line to the owner and/or consumers premises shall
be born by the owner and/or consumer. The owner and/or consumers service
line must be laid according to City specifications. A curb cock and
curb box of approved pattern shall be installed by the owner and/or
consumer at his sole expense at a point designated by the City. The
owner and/or consumer shall be solely responsible for all costs, main-
tenance, repair and service on his line beginning at the main.
C) In the event the City deems it necessary to repair or replace any
part of the owner and/or consumers service line or the curb cock or
curb box the owner and/or consumer shall repair and replace the same
at his sole expense. If the City does the work, then the owner and/or
consumer shall be billed for all costs or labor and parts. Should the
owner and/or consumer fail or refuse to pay such charges when due, the
unpaid portion thereof shall constitute a lien against the real property
serviced and shall be placed on the annual property tax statement for
the premises.
D) The Water Commissioner shall make rules and regulations governing
the installation of water lines for the transmission of water. The
Water Commissioner shall be in control of such installation.

PASSED by the Laurel City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor this
3rd day of July, 1984.

by the Laurel City Council.
