AMENDING SECTION 2.04.030, ELIGIBILITY TO
ELECTIVE OFFICE, OF THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Laurel that
Section 2.04.030 is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2.04.030 Eligibility to Elective Office. No
person is eligible to any elective municipal office who is
not a citizen of the United States and who has not resided
in the municipality or an area which has been annexed thereto
for at least two years immediately preceeding his election,
and who is not a qualified elector thereof.

This ordinance shall become effective 30 days after final
passage by the Laurel City Council.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council on
October 16~ 1984~ by Alderman .Meyers
PASSED by the Laurel City Council and APPROVED by the
