JOINT AMBULANCE, FIRE AND POLICE COMMITTEES

The meeting was opened by Ken Olson.
Chief Jim Stevens reported that he attended meetings on the 12th of May regarding
hazardous releases from industrial areas. He also reported about an opportunity to sit
on a panel with Chief Musson at a meeting on Wednesday, May 26th at Metra Park.
The discussion was regarding teen violence. ChiefMusson reported that he would be
able to attend that meeting.
There was discussion regarding the ambulance, including reporting that Dr. Robert
Vannice is the new Medical Director. Jan Stanford, Acting Ambulance Director,
reported that she recently met the State Emergency Director, Ken Threet. Mr. Threet
was optimistic regarding the direction that the Laurel Volunteer Ambulance is headed.
Jan also reported that Molt has requested to fall into a mutual aid agreement with
Laurel. Discussion followed. The committee directed Jan to get more information. If
Molt needs a quick answer, we will have a meeting to discuss that topic. There are
questions concerning the area of service Molt would require and the amount of
response opportunities it would impose upon our service.
There was no further business and the meeting was adjourned.
