The meeting was called to order at 5:31
In attendance were Iry Wilke, Michele Mize, Phyllis Bomgardner, Tom Canape, Paul Kober, and
Jon Rutt.
No guests
1. LPB Minutes for July 3, 2025—Tom Canape moved Michele Mize 2"dthe motion.
Approved
2. Budget items, nothing new
3. Exxon/Mobil Money—nothing new
4. Other Parks -Sidewalk in Nutting Park in budget. Ditch in Nutting Park to be covered?
5. Riverside Park Campground - Campground being used. Complaint about tent area has no
picnic tables and toilets are far away. Is that something to address. Where does the
phone go?
6. American Legion Building- Susan Burke dropped off Navy footlocker from father for
American Legion Building
7. Riverside Hall/Lions Club - New windows are installed now, new blinds on the new
windows, 2 air conditioners, possible electrical concern with breakers. No swamp
coolers now. Drywall project for next spring. BBs have caused damage, (possibly 25 years
old). Being rented every week or two. New kitchen countertops are installed also.
8. Billie Riddle Splash Park- Nothing new
9. Laurel Rod and Gun Club Building- When will the question of the Rod and Gun Building
be answered to being able to use?
10. Tree Board Business—A new 4th grade principal has been hired. Tentatively Oct 7 tree
planting. 3 trees will be planted.
The council voted on the Ordinance for merging Park Board and Tree Board, and it passed. It will
be effective August 21St. Members will need to reapply for appointment to board, and we will
need to elect officers.
Paul asked about the Rifle building. Mayor would like to see someone take it over. Possible ideas
are for apartments to rent. Iry explained some of the recent history. Possible museum, host
office.
Discussion followed on ideas for Riverside Park.
