Minutes for December 2012 were presented, read, and approved.
Correspondence
A donation in the amount of $100.00 was received from Mike Dewey to help pay the cost of the Wall Street Journal. Mr.
Dewey is an avid reader of the Journal and wants to make sure that we keep the paper coming into the library daily.
Circulation Report
Traffic: down 12 %; circulation: all items circulated totaled 2,649 (including 113 eBooks), book circulation was
down 11.6 %, media circulation was down 21.65 %, eBook checkouts for this month was 5% of total book
circulation; computers: internet use was up 12.2 %, children's use was down 63.42 %, wi -fi use down 12 %;
patron cards: this information not available until January 10
Old Business
The State of Montana sent a letter requesting the EIN for the Foundation. Nathan and Clair will get together to work on
the paperwork for the Foundation.
Bruce stated that he called Peggy to see if any decisions had been made about how the Friends was going to proceed but
she stated that she didn't know at that time. After some discussion, it was decided that Bruce would draft a letter to the
Friends group concerning their intentions for their organization. Bruce will bring the letter to the next Board meeting for
comments before sending it to Lacey.
New Business
Training about harassment issues will be offered by MMIA at the library for all City employees and volunteers on
February 19 and 20 There will be 4 sessions offered with times to be announced later.
