Ambulance
Jan stated that the new ambulance would be reedy on the 24th of November. Jan stated that the ambulance dept. is
sponsoring a bike safety a program to begin in April or May. Jan also reported that First Respondcr and E.M.T.
classes would be starting. Jan is in contact with Community Ed. to coordinate this. Jan reported on the Molt
request for transport assistance. As soon as there is more information, she will bring it before the committee. Jan
stated that the old ambulance has no worth to the service and recommends it be given to the Police Dept. Chief
Musson stated they would have use for it. Chief Stevens also supported this. Smokey Staudinger moved and Dirk
Kroll seconded that the committee recommend that the old ambulance would go to the Police department. Motion
passed.
Police
Rick stated that the hiring process for a new officer is now in progress. Rick brought up the issue of storage. The
police need to find someplace to serve as a storage area. Rick asked if it was okay if they pull the old beds out of the
jail. Some discussion followed. It was determined that no official notification had been made to close the jail. Rick
is going to look into the matter and report back to the committee. Rick mentioned that one of the dispatchers has
been on sick leave for about one year. Discussion on policy pertaining to sick leave followed. Rick reported that
the bids on the patrol car will be closed on Nov. 26.
Fire
Jim stated that Dan Achten has been selected to be on the LVFD. His selection brings the number of firefighters
to 35. Jim reported that Brush 2 has blown a motor. He stated that they got a 1988 6 X 6 fram the State of
Montana. Jim presented a risk management policy to the committee. Ken suggested that Jim contact MMIA and
talk to Bob Worthington to get his input on this policy and report back to the committee. ~It~ere was discussion
about mutual aid with Molt. Jim stated that we bed an agency assistance with Molt that was verbal. Ken asked Jim
if he was comfortable with this agreement. Ken questioned whether Molt was aware that this is a verbal agreement.
Jim said that as far as he knew, they are aware. Ken stated that a training session with Bob Worthington would be
held Dec. 8 at 7:00 pm at the council chambers.
Ken asked for any input from the audience on any issues. There were no comments and so the meeting was
adjourned.
